Job Description

Cypress Semiconductor, a world class leader in semiconductor-based solutions for the automotive, industrial and consumer markets, is seeking experienced Application Engineers to provide technology expertise to our sales and marketing teams and customers to drive sales of existing and new products.  This AE position is an ideal position for an embedded engineer looking to for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity focused on wireless technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop deep technical knowledge of Cypress' Automotive HMI products and solutions
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to secure new opportunities at target Automotive customers
  • Understand applications and technical challenges and develop appropriate solutions to address customer needs
  • Promote Cypress solutions to solve customers' problems via presentations, trainings and demonstrations
  • Modify existing system solutions to optimize product fit to customer requirements.
  • Follow Cypress processes and use Cypress systems for customer support, documentation, and solution development
  • Support customers and enable them with best practices to tune and perform system validation on their systems for best touch screen performance.
  • Provide training to FAEs and customer engineers on all automotive products, including but not limited to touchscreen, capacitive sense buttons (CapSense).


  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of varied electronics HW and FW design or application engineering experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of microcontroller technology
  • Demonstrated analytical, embedded programming and system troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to present technical materials to diverse audiences
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and time management skills
  • Understanding of Automotive manufacturing process and usage of Six sigma methodology to analyze failures.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Automotive EMI/ EMS/ ESD test procedures and relevant Automotive standards for Automotive products (G-TEM-cell, CISPR-25, ISO 11452-2, IEC 61967, IEC 62132-4 etc.).
  • Experience in using Automotive communication protocols like CAN/ LIN/ SPI/ I2C and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience in ASIL and other HIREL standards in Automotive safety system design.
  • Experience in Schematic, PCB design and signal integrity tools.
