Job Description

Cypress' Co-op Program offers engineering students an opportunity to work for a period at Cypress Semiconductor. This allows engineering students the opportunity to gain experience in, and exposure to, all areas of equipment technology, including wafer testing, that will enhance their overall experience before selecting a career path.  This particular position is for the Test Engineering group in Austin, TX.

Skills

Achieve the following general skill learning objectives during their co-op term:
   - a. Become oriented with Cypress and its culture.
   - b. Gain key communication skills needed for interacting with management and technical leaders.
   - c. Understand and practice clean room protocol techniques.
   - d. Gain sufficient knowledge in automated manufacturing systems
   - e. Understand SPC and DOE techniques.
   - f. Gain an overall understanding of the Wafer Test process.

Achieve the following Test Engineering specific learning objectives:
   - a. Be able to operate assigned Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and other related equipment.
   - b. Utilize engineering techniques to identify Test Time Reduction (TTR) opportunities.
   - c. Gain a working knowledge of Block Based Test development and understand each IP Block for Test.
   - d. Accomplish tasks as assigned for TTR and Test Program Platform Conversions. 
    -e. Assist in new product test program creation and debug. 
    -f. Perform and learn additional duties of a Test Engineer.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Implements process solutions through analysis of data using statistically sound methods. Solve basic technological problems in a timely manner such that schedules (production or development) are maintained. Reaches consensus among all appropriate groups before implementing changes.

DECISION MAKING: Release test program changes in a timely manner using all available sources of information. Thoroughly document all code changes and execute correlation to ensure yield/test time/quality meet expectations.
