Job Description

For our site in Langen close to Frankfurt/Main we are looking for an Embedded Software Architect (f/m) in full time. At our Automotive Software development team your main responsibility will be the definition of Software Architectures and Detailed Designs for embedded automotive software drivers and applications. You will contribute to the development of our microcontroller software for a wide range of automotive applications like Body and Comfort Electronics, CID, HUD and Instrument Clusters. 

Major Duties:

• Define Software Architectures and detailed design as base for implementation

• Manage ongoing software requirements definition and prioritization to keep pace with customer design requirements

• Generate documentation including diagrams, charts, and product user guide to ensure the delivery and maintainability of a high quality automotive product

• Support Project Manager for definition of development efforts, timelines, milestones, and priorities

• Work closely with hardware design team to optimize hardware/software co-design and feature implementations 

• Work on Design, Implementation of embedded software drivers and components following Automotive SPICE process

• Provide technical workshops to internal teams and customers

• Execute case studies, validate application use-cases and benchmarks

• Mentor trainees and junior engineers

• Work cooperatively with other Cypress departments like Hardware Design, Marketing, Application Engineering
 

Skills

Qualifications:

• min. 5+ years of experience in embedded automotive software engineering

• Demonstrated min. 2+ years of experience as embedded software architect with use of related state of the art tools 

• Demonstrated excellent skills in embedded software design, C-programming, debugging, documentation and testing

• Familiar to work in an Automotive SPICE process environment 

• Experience mentoring junior engineers

• Knowledge of high-level software architectural patterns and best-practices

    o    Demonstrates expert knowledge in use of state of the art tools like Enterprise Architect 

             o   state management and component design

    o     Distributed system state management, communication, fault tolerance, and logging

    o     Multi-threading and multiprocessing

    o     Autosar 

• Skills in the following technologies:

    o     Strong knowledge in Embedded C/C++ programming language

    o     Familiar in use of Requirments- and Life cycle Managment systems like Polarion, Doors 

    o     Automotive SPICE 

• Master degree in computer science or related field

• Highly self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and track project activities
