Job Description

This role is a key and critical part of the team reporting to the VP, Global Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS.  You will manage a global Compensation team and work closely with the VP to support the development of global compensation strategy and plans consistent with our corporate compensation philosophy. You will lead the implementation, communication and administration of compensation programs, policies, and pay practices. You will monitor the effectiveness and cost competitiveness of our compensation programs and provide recommendations consistent with the corporate compensation philosophy, market competitiveness, business requirements and cost competitiveness in each of the geographic locations in which we have employees. You will work broadly across all global areas of compensation and will play a significant and influential role within Global HR and in the global business.

Skills

  • 12+ years of increasing responsibility & experience in global corporate compensation
  • 6+ years leading a team of compensation professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA or advanced certification (CCP, CBP, CEP or SPHR) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in compensation plan designs and implementation of compensation structures (short term, long term, sales, executive) across multiple geographies
  • Leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role with key projects
  • Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to compose and deliver highly effective executive and Board-level presentations
  • Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment
  • Advanced PC applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

 

Desired background:

  • Experience in the design and market evaluation of all elements of compensation, including base, variable and equity compensation in the U.S. and in international locations, ensuring both integration and alignment with overall company goals and objectives
  • Knowledge and experience in support of 10-K and Proxy filings, including the Proxy’s CD&A and Compensation Tables, coordinating requests to third parties for data to support filings, and coordinating responses from other internal departments for data requests
  • Experience in content development and presentation of materials for the Board of Directors/Compensation Committee with the outcome of materials that support fulfillment of the Committee’s charter
  • Ability to develop analytical tools and models to forecast and manage plan expense, and drive performance through plan design, review and evaluation
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships across the organization including with HR Business Partners, Treasury, Finance, Legal, Tax, Payroll and Benefits
  • Ability to consult HR Business Partners and executives regarding compensation plan designs and strategic initiatives across a variety of business segments
  • Ability to respond to management requests for analysis of employee salary competitiveness quickly and comprehensively
  • Experience conducting and analyzing market salary surveys
  • Experience drafting and communicating all compensation plan documents
  • Desire to keep abreast of new trends in compensation practices and evaluate the viability and necessity of adopting like strategies within the organization
