Job Description

The Cypress Internet of Things (IoT) team is looking an energetic and enthusiastic software engineer with proven industry record to join the software team. In this role, you will be working with a team of world class engineers developing and supporting advanced IoT technologies including industry leading Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE solutions.

Ideal candidates are seasoned engineers with a background in embedded system and networking who are excited about 802.11 wireless networking or Bluetooth/BLE . You must thrive when faced with challenges, and take satisfaction in organizing and solving multiple complex issues simultaneously.

The specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop and enhance Cypress’s IoT solution including system BSP, bootloader, operating system, device driver, 802.11 WLAN driver, BT/BLE stack, firmware, and  applications
  • Work with software and hardware teams on board bring-up, power management, and hardware debug
  • Direct customer interface to support and resolve customer system bring up issues
  • Work with customers to integrate Cypress’s IoT solution from design to production
  • Resolve system level performance, size, and memory, I/O issue
Skills
  • Deep understanding of 802.11 WLAN technology or Bluetooth/BLE technology
  • Familiar with WPA Supplicant, FMAC, WFA certification or  Bluetooh Stack software, profiles and applications
  • Strong in C/C++ and familiar with ARM assembly language
  • Experience developing device driver (such for PCIe, DMA, I2C, USB, and similar peripherals) that interacts with the HW
  • Strong knowledge of bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART and SDIO, USB, PCIe
  • Familiarity with GNU toolchain (gcc, as, ld, make, sed, etc.) or equivalent cross platform development tools
  • Excellent debugging skills – knowledge of debuggers, JTAG, USB/PCIe bus analyzer, Logic Analyzers, wireless sniffer, and oscilloscopes
  • Strong working knowledge of interrupt handling in the device driver and issues surrounding DMA/Cache/SMP etc
  • Experience developing for real time operating systems (RTOS), mBed, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, QNX, Linux
  • Able to work with customers and multi-geographic teams.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Android and Open source development is a plus
  • Candidate with previous Automotive middleware development is a plus
